Updated Response to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Belmont Trading Company would like to take this opportunity to update our customers and suppliers on how the ongoing spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is impacting our global operations.  Our company has continuously provided customized reuse and recycling solutions based on our global footprint and access to international markets.  The spread of COVID-19, however, is requiring our entire industry to make rapid changes that could affect how material is moved and processed.  As we continue to refine policy and procedural changes, we want to share what is being implemented thus far to reassure everyone that we are proactively looking for the best solutions for our customers, suppliers, staff, contractors and any other affected personnel.

Belmont Trading Company released an initial memorandum on March 13, 2020 highlighting the solutions that have already been enacted.  Thankfully, our staff has remained healthy and diligent about following guidelines recommended by government agencies and local officials.  Therefore, as recommended by these groups, Belmont’s headquarters has asked all employees with the capability to work from home to do so effective immediately.  On March 20, 2020 the Governor of Illinois issued an executive order through April 7, 2020 that outlines new restrictions related to stay-at-home, social distancing and essential business/operation requirements.  Currently, Belmont’s operations fall under the category of essential businesses.

Production will still be running, but with enhanced safety measures to protect our staff and the materials passing through the building.   We will continue to monitor changes and are ready with alternative solutions if stricter enforcements are ordered. Thankfully, given Belmont’s resources, capabilities and global network, we remain optimistic that alternative solutions will be available if needed.   All of our staff is still available during normal business hours and our office phone line remains open to reach all departments.

As this situation progresses, Belmont Trading Company will continue to update all affected parties regarding government decisions, facilities closing, shipment changes, delays in processing, etc.  Please feel free to reach out to our United States headquarters in Buffalo Grove, Illinois at 847-412-9690 or email our Compliance Manager listed below for any questions or concerns related to this memorandum.  We continue to appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we all navigate through these unforeseen circumstances together.

Sincerely,
Amy Reiken,
Compliance Manager
